The Producers

Profiles of leading film producers

Guest List

"The definition of a producer: an idealist, a realist, a practical dreamer, a sophisticated gambler, and a stage-struck child" – Oscar Hammerstein

It is said that a producer is like a conductor in an orchestra – perhaps he cannot play all the instruments in the pit, but he knows what they all should sound like, and how they work together to make music.

The Producers is a series of one-hour documentary-style profiles with notable producers who have made and continue to make films and television shows which comprise and affect the popular culture that dominates our collective consciousness. Join Keith Morrison, correspondent for Dateline NBC, and guest hosts Michèle Tredger and Adrian Harewood as they examine the reach of the unseen hand of producers.

Back on Bravo for a fourth season, The Producers will continue the exploration of the world of filmmaking by focusing on the life and work of those who “make it happen” and demystifying their integral involvement.

Past featured guests have included Ken Burns (The Civil War, Baseball, Brooklyn Bridge) Robert Lantos (Being Julian, The Statement, Ararat), David Foster (Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Josh Groban), Denise Robert (Maurice Richard, Barbarian Invasions, Mambo Italiano), Don Carmody (Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Chicago, Gothika), Stacey Sher (Pulp Fiction, Garden State, Erin Brockovitch), Larry Gelbart (MASH, Blame it on Rio, Weapons of Mass Distraction), Allan Heinberg (The O.C, Gimore Girls, Sex and the City) and many others.
